A number system is a method for representing numbers using symbols. It's essentially a language for expressing quantities. The most common number system we use is the decimal system, which has a base of 10, meaning it uses ten digits (0-9).
Base: The base of a number system determines the number of unique symbols used. For example, the binary system has a base of 2, using only the digits 0 and 1
Digits: These are the symbols used to represent numbers. In the decimal system, the digits are 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9
Place Value: The position of a digit within a number determines its value. In the decimal system, each position represents a power of 10 (ones, tens, hundreds, etc.)
