Exploring the World of Mechanics: Elasticity

Understand Waves and Thermodynamics: This playlist covers essential topics like sound waves, heat transfer, and the laws of thermodynamics, equipping you with the knowledge and skills to excel in physics.

Oladele Yusuf Olatunji

Elasticity is the ability of a material to return to its original shape and size after being stretched or compressed.

Think of a rubber band. When you stretch it, it deforms. But when you release it, it snaps back to its original shape. This is because rubber is an elastic material.

Stress: The force applied per unit area of a material.

Strain: The deformation of a material in response to stress.

Elastic Limit: The maximum stress a material can withstand before it permanently deforms.

“The laws of physics is the canvas God laid down on which to paint his masterpiece”
