Calculus, a cornerstone of modern mathematics, is the study of continuous change. It provides a powerful framework for understanding and modeling the dynamic world around us. At its core, calculus revolves around two fundamental concepts: differentiation and integration.

Differentiation deals with the rate of change of a function at a particular point. Imagine a car traveling along a road. Its speed is constantly changing. Differentiation allows us to determine the instantaneous speed of the car at any given moment, or its acceleration, which is the rate of change of speed.

Integration, on the other hand, deals with the accumulation of quantities. It allows us to calculate areas under curves, volumes of solids, and the total change of a quantity over time. For example, if we know the velocity of an object at every moment, integration allows us to determine the total distance traveled by the object.
